Dear Students and Advisors,
On behalf of the Medical University of South Carolina’s chapter of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), we would like to invite you to attend our third annual Pre-Dental Day. Our Pre-Dental Day will include hands-on activities – such as fabricating a tooth out of wax, taking an impression, and making stone casts using the impression. The day will also consist of a lunch, tour, and a Q&A session with current students. ASDA’s intention with this event is to supplement the informative part of most pre-dental days with relevant information and fun activities. This is an opportunity to learn more about dental education, organized dentistry, and hopefully get you fired up about making dentistry your chosen profession! The cost will be $125 which includes lunch, supplies for the day, and parking.
We would also like to invite you to join ASDA as a Pre-Dental student. As a national member, your incentives would include free subscriptions to our publications, ASDA News, Mouth, & Word of Mouth; a copy of our “Getting Into Dental School” handbook; discounts on financial and insurance programs through Bank of America and Geico; and a 10% discount on Kaplan’s DAT courses and materials, which alone covers the membership fee. The cost to join our Pre-Dental ASDA chapter is $75, and you can do so by clicking here. Please be sure to list our chapter (MUSC College of Dental Medicine) as your reference in the online application.
If you choose to join ASDA ($75) as well as attend Pre-Dental Day ($125) and sign up by clicking here, and you will receive both for the price of $175.
We will be hosting our upcoming MUSC ASDA Pre-Dental Day on May 11, 2013. The day will begin at 9 am and conclude between 2 and 3 pm. This is a student-run event designed to give you a better idea of life as a dental student, and help you decide if a career in the dental profession is right for you. Pre-dental day attendance does not increase your odds of admission to the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Bryan Mullen (mullenb@musc.edu) or Andrew Ponton (ponton@musc.edu).
Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you!
